We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Candace Straight, one of the founding board members of the ERA Project at Columbia Law School.
Candy, as she is known to all who love her, was a tireless champion of gender equality. Her indelible contributions to the women’s movement and in particular to the ratification efforts of the ERA, are an inspiration to us all.
Before turning her talents to politics, women’s rights advocacy, and film and television production, Candy had a pioneering career as an investment banker. We are incredibly grateful to her for the energy, brilliance, and dedication she brought to everything she did, and especially in uplifting the voices and stories of women. We will sorely miss her and proudly carry on her legacy.
